Beyond School

Beyond School is a travelling event which showcases local science, technology, engineering and mathematics professions and opportunities in the regions it visits.

Developed by the Shell Questacon Science Circus, the Beyond School event is aimed at senior secondary students with the objectives of:

• showcasing the science and technology achievements in the region
• representing a range of science and engineering based careers that are not usually thought of by students, and
• exploring personal pathways into professions with passionate presenters and stallholders.

Event schedule

Beyond School operates in a three part format for school groups

• short presentations given by representatives from one of the many local science, engineering and technology related organisations participating in the event
• ‘trade fair’ style interaction with local businesses and organisations
• Shell Questacon Science Circus exhibition—hands-on science exhibits from the highly regarded Science Circus.

School groups will have 2 hours at the event; booking slots are available throughout the day.

Schools will need to arrange transport to and from the event, bus drop-off is available. Please note a maximum of 200 students per group booking.
